Service Description

Using your choice of 10kgs of white, brown or speckled clay, students will learn hand-building & wheel throwing basics: Week #1 – While making an appetizer set, you will learn pinch and slab methods of hand building, conditioning your clay, texture & stamping, studio orientation, most useful tools, & clay storage. Week #2 – While making a mug, you will learn the 4s’s of pottery, beveled seams, pulling a strap handle, reinforcement coil. Week #3 – While making a geometric vase, you will learn how to reclaim your clay, wedging, hydrating and storage. Week #4 – Let’s make a bowl? An introduction to the wheel and slump vs. hump forms Week #5 – Underglaze demonstration, trimming, relief treatments (wax, tape, mod podge) and free choice clay project Week #6 – Glaze demonstration – dip, brush, drizzle, layer, & sponge Weeks #7 & #8 – Glaze your projects
